“There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” Leonard Cohen.
A Thing of Eternal Beauty
There was a time when
the silver moon and the twinkling stars
were the only reminders of the light.
Out there, somewhere, at the night's end.
Love was the shard of golden light
that appeared on the skyline,
the day our hearts first met,
and the dawn splintered open the night.
There is a crack in everything.
Love was the healing light
that pierced the fissure,
and illuminated our lives.
Love makes us one, love makes us strong.
Love is the Kintsugi gold
that turns a flawed and broken vessel
into a thing of eternal beauty.
